Free Event — Children’s Story Hour and Sing Along – The Big Stew by Kimberly Branch

With so many chemically-ridden and genetically modified food choices, it can be difficult to teach our children how to be healthy decision makers outside of the home.

Join us for a magical story hour and sing along with local author Kimberly Branch. The Big Stew is the tale of four vegetables brought to life on a quest to stay organic. While on their journey, they learn a thing or two about taking responsibility for our environment, and the importance of healthy eating.

Thrive’s own farm director, Farmer Joe Lustig will be on hand to lead families on a garden tour and a vegetable harvest. (Weather permitting)

We will raffle off a signed copy of the Big Stew. Books will be available for sale. We hope you’ll join us for this and other surprises too!

Please pre-register for this FREE event

Free Event — Gut Health: The Inside Story

Do you suffer from chronically low energy, digestive issues such as bloating after meals, diarrhea, nausea, seasonal allergies or asthma, food sensitivities, chronic infections, auto-immune disease, frequent mood changes or hormonal imbalances? These are just a few of the symptoms associated with leaky gut.

Taken out of context of the whole body and treated individually as they often are by conventional medicine, symptoms continue to spring up like a proverbial ‘leaky’ boat, leaving you feeling more tired, more bloated, and hopeless. That’s the bad news. Fortunately, the good news is to heal a leaky gut you need to look no further then your garden or natural foods section at the grocery store.

Please join us for an introduction to gut health with expert nutritionist Monica Corrado to help you better understand the causes of leaky gut and navigate the dietary shifts necessary to heal.

Please pre-register for this free event.

303 Magazine Features Dr. John Augspurger of BioDentist

Posted by on Dec 6, 2013 in Uncategorized, Work Life Balance | 0 comments

Denver’s trendy 303 Magazine recently featured Dr. John Augspurger’s BioDentist offices in its Health Bent column authored by George Peele (@orangepeelemoses). The article “BioDentist John Augspurger is One Sweet Tooth Doctor” shares Peele’s perception of a visit to the new Denver offices. From the 303 Magazine Article When I recently noticed sensitivity between two of my molars, I called the office of a man who’d just moved his practice from Colorado Springs to Glendale wellness complex Thrive. His name is Dr. John Augspurger. And I’ve never been more thrilled to be drilled. Augspurger bills himself as a biological dentist, or “biodentist” for short. One might also refer to him as naturopathic or holistic. Whereas most oral health professionals focus purely on immediate symptoms, with zero regard for the overall condition of the mouth in which they arose, Augspurger is noticeably different. “The basis of biological/holistic dentistry is that everything in your body is connected to everything else. Our bodies run as intricate, coordinated systems. When we are healthy, our bodies are much more resistant to dental disease. And conversely, when we’re unhealthy, we’re more prone to disease and dental disease is just one of them. A biological dentist works with YOU to improve everything in the body by improving your teeth—specifically the microcirculation, lymphatic function, blood flow, oxygenation, and the health of the bone and supportive structures.” Read the complete 303 Magazine...

Work-Life Balance: Why it Matters

The quest for balance is something that is often quite challenging in our modern world. The ever-available stream of information, ever-increasing financial demands, and the complexity of the world we live in make balance feel like an elusive concept. I remember interviewing for a job in Washington D.C. I casually asked “what is the work life balance like here?” “Completely normal!” I was assured. Coming from Denver, I assumed “normal” meant people worked a 40-50 hour week, then went home to be with their families, pursue their hobbies, and get a little exercise in there. After I accepted the job and started my new position, I soon discovered that “a normal balanced life” meant working 70- 80+hours a week, Monday-Sunday. Oh my. . . At Thrive Integrated Health, we believe that work-life balance is crucial to health, and that there are innumerable simple ways to incorporate balance into your life by making small changes. Come check out our programs to help you manage stress, optimize your health, and do your part to live a healthy, balanced...
